How to get to South Bohemia

When travelling South Bohemia, you can choose the type of transport that suits you the best:

Train and bus

You can get to South Bohemia in comfortable international railroad connection and periodical bus lines from Prague’s airport Ruzyně or main rail/bus station Praha (Hlavní nádraží Praha).

Car

You can get to South Bohemia easily using the D1 highway, direction to Brno, then Tábor and České Budějovice.

 

 

 

Transportation within the town

Trolleys

As a transportation in the Metropolis České Budějovice you may choose the environmentally friendly trolleybuses, whereas other towns provide only standard means of public transport such as buses.

Buses

Bus lines operate throughout the day and night. It is necessary to follow the timetables of each city. Further information is available at all information points

 

 

Tickets

You have to carry a valid travel tickets for using public means of transport in the city that are marked in the right ticket machine. You can buy the tickets in automatic machines or at many bus tram and trolley stops, stationeries and info centers.

Taxi service is provided by number of companies. To ensure high comfort of travelling it is recommended to follow these few rules:

1. Get on properly labelled vehicles only with roof lights and the “TAXI” lettering.
2. Get on vehicles labelled with evidence number, name of the company and basic price list.
3. Order taxicabs via non-stop dispatching.
4. Require properly filled payment document from the taximeter.

One-shot aboard price amounts to CZK 20.
Waiting time of a taxicab costs CZK 6 per minute.

 

Rent-a-Car

You can hire all types of vehicles in all cities via rent car companies.

 

Car parking

Parking in the cities centers is paid from 8:00 till 18:00 in workdays. During weekends the parking is free.
